The Healthiest Way To Cook: Here's Why

Naturally Preserves Nutrients

The steam recirculation via the conical lid keeps the vitamins, minerals and nutrients in your food - as opposed to frying or boiling them away. This makes your meals not only more tender, but also more nutritious and healthier.

Chemical-Free Cooking Surface

No synthetic coatings. This tagine is lead-free, chemical-free, and California Prop 65 Compliant. No machines are used during production, just traditional artisanship using clay, water, and fire—safe for you and your food.

Slow Cooking Benefits - But With Speed

Tagines cook at about the same speed as other pots, but with all the benefits of slow cooking. Tagine cooking helps break down tough fibers and proteins, which can help with better digestion, nutrient absorption, and is much more flavorful.

Beautiful Tajine!

I recently visited Morocco and did not have any luggage space to bring back the lovely tajines there. Luckily I found this one once I got back home and it’s way more beautiful than any roadside tajine. Excellent customer service. I would definitely purchase from this store again! : )

Beautiful

Style and function describe this product. It is a bit more work to cook with because of prep time of pot soaking but there’s nothing that compares to clay pot cooking. It looks beautiful in the kitchen as well.

- To be the centerpiece of birthdays, quiet nights in, holidays, and everything in between.

Whether you're cooking for one or feeding your closest friends, this pot becomes part of the memory.

After all, when a method lasts 3,000 years, you don’t change it—you honor it.

Turn your every day dinners into celebrations – with a centerpiece that cooks memorable food (and tells a story).

How do you cook with a tagine?

First time cooking with a tagine? We're so happy you're here!

To cook with your tagine, follow these simple steps! You can think of it like using a pan in the oven, but MUCH tastier:

1. Layer your ingredients in the base and place the lid on top—then follow your recipe's stirring instructions.

2. Cook low and slow on stovetop (with diffuser) or oven.

3. Serve straight from the tagine—it’s as beautiful as it is functional.

Do you need to cure this tagine?

Curing is encouraged but not necessary. We recommend curing your tagine depending on how frequently you use it. If used daily, we recommend curing it every 1 to 2 years. This will help keep your tagine looking brand new, and elongate its life cycle.

To cure your tagine, follow these steps:

1. Soak the base and lid in water for 24 hours. Make sure both are completely soaked in water for a full day.

2. Pat dry with a clean towel, and brush surfaces with olive oil. Doing this will help seal the clay and create a surface that is non-stick.

3. Place the tagine in a cold oven and heat to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. This gradual heating process helps to prevent the clay from cracking due to sudden the sudden change in temperature.

4. Leave the tagine in the oven for 2 hours. This will allow the clay to slowly cure.

5. After two hours, turn off the oven and let the tagine cool completely inside the oven.

6. Now, you are ready to cook with your cured tagine!
