Description
Painted all the way down. Most tagines are decorated only on the lid. Ours is painted on the base as well — so when the lid comes off at the table, the design is still there, framing the food for the rest of the meal.
No glaze — just bare, natural clay. The lead found in some imported cookware comes from glazes. There isn't one here, and no toxic paints or dyes either.
Thrown and hand-painted in Nabeul, Tunisia by local women earning a fair wage. No two are identical.
