Oven-Safe & Stovetop-Ready
Description
Handcrafted in Tunisia by skilled female artisans, each Kamsah tagine is a celebration of tradition, utility, and artistry. Formed from natural clay and painted using plant-based pigments, it’s safe for oven and stovetop use—and stunning enough to double as a serving piece. Whether you’re slow-cooking stews, roasting vegetables, or simply displaying it on your countertop, this tagine turns every meal into an experience.
No two are alike—because every piece is handcrafted start to finish.
Crafted for Keeps
Every Kamsah tagine begins in Nabeul, Tunisia, where women potters still shape local clay entirely by hand. No molds, no conveyor belts—just 3,000-year-old know-how that leaves a fingerprint of human skill in every curve.
Ingredients You Can Trust
Plant-based pigments give each pattern its rich color, so nothing synthetic ever touches your food.
Lead- & toxin-free: fired with an alkaline, water-based glaze that meets the strict standards of California Proposition 65.
Ethical by Design
Your tagine funds fair wages and safe working conditions for the female artisans who make it—helping a centuries-old craft (and the community behind it) thrive in the modern world.
Performance Worth Passing Down
Thick, high-heat clay locks in moisture and nutrients while standing up to daily stovetop or oven use. Treat it well and it will serve gatherings for decades—heirloom cookware that gets better with every shared meal.

Better Tagine Cooking for Better Living
Most modern cookware is mass-produced, coated with chemicals, and designed for speed — not flavor. It heats unevenly, dulls aromas, and makes real slow-cooking nearly impossible.
At Kamsah we wanted to bring back the kind of cooking that feels grounding, slow, and deeply flavorful. So we worked with traditional artisans to create a tagine that’s high-quality, durable, and transforms simple ingredients into rich, aromatic meals.
1
Handcrafted by Skilled Artisans
Every tagine is shaped, smoothed, and painted by hand using traditional methods passed down for generations giving each piece unique character and better heat control.
2
Made With Natural, Non-Toxic Materials
We use premium clay, lead-free glazes, and food-safe pigments. Each tagine is inspected individually to ensure even thickness, durability, and safe everyday cooking.
3
Slow, Even Cooking for Deep, Layered Flavor
The iconic cone lid circulates steam naturally, keeping ingredients tender while concentrating flavors. Perfect for slow-simmered stews, vegetables, meats, and comforting weekly meals.

Do you need to cure this tagine?
Curing is encouraged but not necessary. We recommend curing your tagine depending on how frequently you use it. If used daily, we recommend curing it every 1 to 2 years. This will help keep your tagine looking brand new, and elongate its life cycle.
To cure your tagine, follow these steps:
1. Soak the base and lid in water for 24 hours. Make sure both are completely soaked in water for a full day.
2. Pat dry with a clean towel, and brush surfaces with olive oil. Doing this will help seal the clay and create a surface that is non-stick.
3. Place the tagine in a cold oven and heat to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. This gradual heating process helps to prevent the clay from cracking due to sudden the sudden change in temperature.
4. Leave the tagine in the oven for 2 hours. This will allow the clay to slowly cure.
5. After two hours, turn off the oven and let the tagine cool completely inside the oven.
6. Now, you are ready to cook with your cured tagine!
