At Kamsah we believe in the power of giving back. With every purchase you make, 10% of all proceeds will go towards philanthropic programs that empower women and youth in developing countries, educating and providing for those that dream of a better life.
We partner with the Local Forest Products Association (LFPA) in Tunisia, a start-up organization run by Mehria Cherni, a Kamsah artisan who creates many of our beautiful kilim rugs and fine pillows. This dynamic group provides traditional craft skills and education that lead to financial self-security for the young and disenfranchised women and children in Tunisian society, preventing at risk citizens from slipping into delinquency or turning to extremism.
The Local Forest Products Association aims to help youth envision new, broader horizons and encourage them to continue building into North Africa’s democratic future. Its works daily to help local women learn valuable and increasingly rare skill sets and help them become more independent and self-sufficient.
As we bring new products to market from small villages around the world, we continue to explore developments with other companies and products. The future for the next generation of artisans is bright, and we are just getting started.
